Free public transport on December 31 and January 1
„Rīgas satiksme” informs that on December 31 and January 1 passengers will be able to use public transport (trams, trolleybuses, buses and minibuses) free of charge, and additional public transport runs will be organized in the New Year night. On the New Year eve, December 31, and the first day of the New year, January 1, the parking lots operated by the company will be available free of charge, except the underground parking lots at K.Valdemāra Street 5a.
Public transport (trams, trolleybuses, buses)
On December 31 and January 1, public transport will run according to holiday schedules. On these days, passengers will be able to use trams, trolleybuses and buses free of charge.
To ensure a more comfortable transportation of passengers to and from the places where festive events will be held, additional public transport runs will be organized in the night of December 31/January 1, which will be available from approximately 20:00 until 4:00:
- on tram routes No. 1, 5, 7, 10 and 11;
- on trolleybus routes No. 9, 14, 15, 17, 18, 22 and 27.
- on bus routes No. 3, 11, 12/23/26 (runs over Akmens bridge), 18, 24, 25, 37, 40, 50, 51 and 53.
Parking lots
Pay parking lots of Riga municipality operated by „Rīgas satiksme” will be free of charge on December 31 and January 1, except the underground parking at Krišjāņa Valdemāra Street 5a, where parking services will be charged for according to the existing tariffs.
Customer service centres
On Saturday, December 28, the customer service centre at Brīvības Street 49/53 will be closed, and the other five customer service centres will work as usually on holidays, i.e. from 10:00 until 16:00.
On December 29, the customer service centre at Spīķeru Street 1 will be open from 10:00 until 16:00, and the other five customer service centres will be closed.
On Monday, December 30, the customer service centre at Brīvības Street 49/53 will be open from 8:00 until 17:00, and the other five customer service centres will work as usually on working days, i.e. until 19:00. On the holiday eve, legal persons will be served at the customer service centre at Brīvības Street 191 from 8:00 until 16:00.
On December 31 and January 1, all customer service centres will be closed.
Minibuses, express buses and night transport
On December 31 and January 1, minibuses and express buses will run according to the Sunday schedule. On the above days, passengers will be able to use minibuses (coloured blue-and-white) for free.
The night transport will be provided in the night of December 27/28 and 28/29.
